Special Show

Slightly overcast skies and cooler temperatures made for a great day for powerboating cruises, playing the course at golf, and attending a special Magic Show by The Amazing Andy (aka Dr. Schneider, a long-time volunteer physician). There was a great crowd at the late afternoon show and the Program Center was the perfect venue. Later on there was no better way to end the day than to have fun with friends then head to the Talent Show!

Off to the Races

Campers have enjoyed our new peddle go-carts, racing them during cabin nights and free hour.

The Big Kahuna Cup

During the third week of 2nd session the Seafarer staffs have been striving to attract campers to their activities. They are graded on a variety of areas such as enthusiasm, creativity, the number of campers at the activity during the day, cheers in the dining hall, etc. It has been a blast for all of us as the staff members have tried to out-do each other this week :)

We kicked off the week in style with a Vespers service led by our super CILTs, skits galore, and creative enticements to attend activities. The Mariners II campers have hit the ground running and are already having fun and earning ranks.

Activity Challenge Cup (ACC)

Today kicked off our 6th Annual Activity Challenge Cup competition. This awesome week-long event gives each activity the opportunity to showcase the best of instruction, creativity and fun. Campers support their favorite activity and the leaderboard is updated each night at dinner. We'll keep you posted throughout the week.

Bill Adams Regatta

This weekend Sea Gull hosted over 100 alumni and friends for the 3rd Annual William J. Adams, IV, regatta. Our alumni teamed with campers and staff for an afternoon of high wind sailing excitement on the water. The end of the pier was packed with spectators cheering on the fleet.

Rockin' Saturday

Big Kahuna fever is heating up and skits in the dining hall are getting more creative by the day. The temperatures have also been higher than usual, prompting more time at water activities and icee pop runs by the nurses. Even the horses think an icee pop is a good idea!

Liquid sunshine

Although some summer thunderstorms rumbled through last night and delayed the SG/SF dance, everyone was excited about "Plan B". Sunday services led by the Head Counselors started our day off right this morning and though there is liquid sunshine in the area at this time we are hopeful to have the dance tonight!

Achievement Swimming

This morning during Achievement Swimming time campers could test for higher swim bands, or could test for the Advanced Swimmer and Seaman Survivor ranks. In addition, there was a stroke clinic offered and an opportunity for swimmers to work on their endurance. The Aquatics CILTs assisted swimmers, lifeguarded and served as the #1 cheerleaders for everyone!

Another great day

The swim lake has always been one of the most popular places at camp. Buddy-checks and sand castles are standard fare.
