Camp Sea Gull for boys & Camp Seafarer for girls are located on the North Carolina coast. They provide a healthy environment that emphasizes character and skill development, all under the guidance of strong leaders.
Summer staff have arrived at both Sea Gull and Seafarer, and they are hard at work pulling the boats out of storage and getting the prepped and ready for the summer. Hard to believe it's that time again. Campers will be here before we know it!
This past weekend Camp Sea Gull hosted our annual Father-Son weekend. Fathers and their sons participated in all camp activities and enjoyed spending time together. It was a great opportunity for many alumni to return to camp as well as a great introduction to camp for many dads and sons.
Families have been packing their suitcases full so far this week. A class on Racing Rules and Tactics set the stage for a lively mid-week regatta on both sunfish and scots today. Steady southwest winds have made sailing a popular activity, though we'd never count out bumper tubing.
The sun is shining, the winds are blowing, the staff is ready and the families are enjoying their first day of fun at Camp Seafarer. 57 families from 10 states arrived today, many of them about to burst with excitement as they drove through the gates.
An early morning start meant that some campers had a great day in the sound catching some big puppy drum. Back at camp the sunfish were rigged and ready to go!
There is so much happening this last week - the ski show, introduction to some of the larger SG/SF vessels, tie-dye day at Creative Arts and the Campwide Talent Show.
